(FOR KEY SEE REVERSE) The follows is a summary of information on Soviet and East German military activities ko., A. Soviet Activities 1. Genera: Firing practices, especially with tanks, continued during the: ;first half of April. The arrival of T-54 tanks is continuing. 25X1 2. Fourth Guards Mechanized Army: Elements'of the 25th Tank Division were transferred from Oranienburg to Camp Vogelsang between 8 and 11 April. In addition, two shipments from Prenzlau arrived at Vogelsang on 10 April. 25X1 3. Third Shock Army: Elements of the Mechanized Division were transferred from Perleberg to Camp Planken in Letzling Heath between 20 and 25 April. The Wittstook airfield training grounds is to be occupied by air force personnel. 25X1 Fourth Artillery Corps: Several generals inspected units of the 6th Artillery Divisi in Rathenow between 1 and 5 April. Elements of the 32nd AAA. Division were transferred in six shipments from their posts to the Baruth-Jueterbog area between 31 March and 4 April. 25X1 7 April and one to RBD Greifswald on 9 April. The discharges previously scheduled for the period of 5 to 20 May were already beginning in early April. The assignment of recruits to units was taking place simultaneously. AG a result of these measures, training activity was considerably. reduced after 1 April. 2. Mechanized Division Potsdam has apparently.roheived priority in the assign- ment of replacements. On 15 April 100 sttients of the Motor Transport Officerst School in Potsdam were assigned to units. An equal number of students are expected as replacements. in the near future.
