PLACE ACQUIRED DATE ACQUIRED uranium Mine in Fo jciesakow 25X1 1. A uranium mina is located in the vicinity of Wo jcieszkaw S 22-19), Work is continuous 9 day and night. 2. The mining areas are enclosed by barbed wire fences with entrances which follow a zigzag line to allow passage. A light tank is used for mobile surveillance along the approaches to the mine. Daring the night the area is completely darkened. 3, About SO percent of the workers are political prisoners; Soviet and Polish specialists make up the remaining 20 percent. Tha number of workers is not specified. 4. The political. prisoners who work in the mine are quartered ia. a concentration camp located near the enclose of the mine fts. These prisoners have been sentenced to more than 15 years of bard labor. 5? 6. Discipline is very rigid. The food is goad and there is "abundant distribution" of alcoholic beverages and cigarettes.
