Comment. On 1 October 1954, the sea police recruiting depot,
- ame C 11, was transferred from Parow to the semi-permanent
buildings located near the ruins of Dwasieden Castle which formerly
served as quarters for the sea police signal school. Upon completion
of their basic training at this unit, were transferred to other sea
police units, in most cases to guard companies. The engineer unit was
located in a hutment camp located about 500 meters north-northwest of
the ruined caste.

THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
1. The recruits in Dwasieden who had received training left Sassnitz and
only a skeleton crew of about 250 persons remained in the installations
there. The strength of the sea-police engineer unit, also stationed in
Dwasieden, was about 300 men. 1
2. Another 300 men of the Sea Police were quartered at the barracks
installations located in the harbor district of Sassnitz opposite
the boat shed, and in the former harbor administation building.
They were observed only during the morning roll call, and subsequently
went to work in the various workshops in the harbor district (Locksmiti.s'
shop, forge, etc.).The crews of the sea2police vessels lying in harbor
are not included in the above 300 men.
