THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
1. It was learned that the final assembly of Diesel Engine KVD-125 will get under
way in workshop No 9 on 1 April 1955. Sixteen specialized workers were already
transferred to Rosslau.,the destination of the engines. In early January 1955,
the cut and milled crankshafts were waiting in workshop -'o 8 for their final
machining. Motor blocks had not yet been delivered. In February 1955, workshop
No 9 was equipped with the machinery required for the final assembly of the
Diesel engines. Access to this workshop was permitted only to persons with
special identification cards. The crankshafts were locked up.
2. On 4 February 1955, the first 25 motor scooters were delivered to DHZ
Maschinen- and Fahrzeugbau. The original sales price of 2,500 DMi is
ea.pected to be reduced to 1,800 DM. In January 1955, several motor scooters
were sold to private buyers at the lowered price under the obligation of
bubritting continuing reports on the performance of the machine, and of

ment of contracts by subcontractors, and fle the shortage of

rWakout spindles, rims, tires, and chassis. A shortened type of the 1955-
model Ifa I?T 125 telescopic springing was used. The 1955 production target
was fixrd at 10,000 motor scooters, 250 - 300 per shift. In early February,
2,000 engines were in stock to be fitted into the scooters.
In January 1+55, the bicycle Diesel engine which is assembled at VEB
Karl-Marx-'INerk ~A.t ','agdeburg was offered ?or sale at a price of 478 D.I.
VEB Industriewerk Ludwigsfelde is engaged in the manufacture of seven
component parts of this type engine.
On 2 January 1;55, 7,000 pistons and 5,000 connecting rods were ordered at
VEB Industriewerk Ludwigsfelde.
On 1. February 1,955, work was started at workshops No 6,8, and 11 on the
machining of tube blanks for tank guns. After turning, grinding, boring
and grooving operations, these tubes were to be delivered to Brandenburg
and Strausberg.
