factory is believed capable of constructing turbines up to 2,000 kw ir25X1
size, and is the only known Polish factory capable of producing steam
turbines. The factory was originally constructed in 1949-1950, but was
allegedly blown up with all its machine tools just as construction was
completed. Reportedly, the former directors of the plant are still in
jail for having failed to prevent this act of sabotage. Since that time,
the turbine factory has been rebuilt and is now believed to be in operation.
2. Recently the Poles completed preparations for transporting an old turbine
from the Jupiter coal mine in Upper Silesia to the Elblag turbine factory
for an overhaul. This turbine had been originally constructed by the
Allgemeine Elekttricitaets Gesellschaft (AEG) in Berlin and had been
installed in the Jupiter coal mine sometime prior to World War II. It
has a capacity of 15mw, After its overhauling at Elbla, it will be
