1. Approximately 1,800 prisoners are employed in the uranium mines at Pribram
(N49m42; E14-01). Free workers in the mines receive a net salary of about
1,300 crowns per month. Transportation to and from the mines is provided
by buses which leave Prague at Namesti Republiky.
20 The CKD Sokolovo factory in Prague has dismissed 2,000 workers in order to
force them to do agricultural work and to settle in frontier regions.
