1, The Soviet tank repair installation in Wuensdorf employs 700-800 German
workers and.400 Soviet nationals.
2. About 30 tanks per month are handled.
3. The installation is divided into three parts: disassembly section, body
section and assembly section. Each has its own workshops.
4. The commanding officer of the installation is Colonel Khokhlov. His chief
of finance is Major Larin.
5. The disassembly section is commanded by Senior Lieutenant Pavlov. The
other two sections are commanded by captains.
6. The Germans work in one shift, from 8-16 hours. The Russians work.in two
shifts. ~
In April 1955 the installation was engaged in remodeling T-34 tanks as
follows: the turrets were removed and the guns taken out. Machine
guns were installed. The finished tank was somewhat lower than the
.original T-34 and was armed with machine-guns only.
