20 In 1952 TRO obtained another Soviet order for the delivery of two
regulating transformers of 125 MVA and 220 kV. The order specifiedof
that these transformers were to be tested with 400 to 440 Vo One
these transformers was to be exhibited at the out 1953 fall
but this plan was abandoned when it
did not pass the tests in the TRO test stands- From late 1953 on,
TRO attempted to improve the two transformers scheduled for shipment
to USSR. In mid-May 1955, the transformers were subjected to insulation
tests with the test voltage mentioned. It turned out that neither
transformer was able to operate under the specified conditions.
