1o Function
The former Hauptverawaltung 18 in the Ministry of Machine Construction has 25X1
been redesignated Verualtung fuer Industriebedrf (Administration for In-
dustrial Requirements) and has been assigned the establishment of an air-
craft industry* Since early April, its chief has been I9taetzold (fnu).1
A subordinated Amt fuer Technik maintains liaison with offices in other
ministries and directly with the Ministry of Interior.
2. Organization 25X1
.The administrative departments are headed'by deputy chiefs for'techriical9
political, commercial, and, plant sections. Technical chief Dr. ing. Brunolf
Baade heads the following three technical sections development, series
production, sales and cooperation (sin).2 Otto (fnu),'SED Central Committee
liaison 'officer, was previously with Trapola (sic)3 and later in the USSR.
3. Production
The following is the planned production and development of the HV tier

a. Licensed series production of Il-14, with a monthly output of 10 aircraft,
starting. mid-1957 and continuing until 1960 for a total output of 300 25X1
to 400 aircraft. The first aircraft is to be completed in mid-1956.

of the TI-152 are to begin in 1957 and be completed in mid 1958. The
preliminary designs are already in the USSR.

5. Repair Work
At present, repair work on type Yak-11 and Yak-18 is in progress at Indus-
triew.rk Xarl-'arx-Stadt and VEB Sohkeudita for the VdA for the Account of
XVP Cottbus.

6. Serious difficulties are being encountered concerning the transfer of plants
and the shortage of labor at B"-Union S$ed, necessitating the additional
employment of Bau-Union Halle, Two h ndred and fifty (250) experts were to
be employed by Veiwaltung fher Industrisbau, but only about 150 proved to be

7. The SAD Xampfgruppe (action group) has already been established. Ing. Baade
has been accepted as a member of the SAD without a preliminary period as a
oandidate for membership.
