The basis of the whole production of the Czechoslovak machine industry is
the export trade, the export of machinery constituting 40% of the total
export of all goods from Czechoslovakia. To meet demands on the home market,
where requirements are continually increasing, Czechoslovakia imports con-
siderable quantities of machinery from Fast Germany. The position was
discussed at mutual-aid talks held in Moscow at the end of April 1955.
