APPRAISAL OF CONTENT IS TENTATIVE. 1. while navigating in S. Antonio canal leading into Sibenik harbor, it was noticed that the sea enters into three caves excavated in the rock on the right side of the channel going into the port proper. The estimated draught at the entrance of these caves is about two meters. Each cave or tunnel, immediately after the entrance, has a sidewalk running laterally to it which is about one meter wide and the three caves commu- nicate with each other., 2. Outside the first cave on the right side, on a small open clearing, there was the following equipment: a. One compressor for the operation of pneumatic drills; b. One generating unit to provide lighting power for the cave; and c'. One beat with diving equipment. All this equipment was guarded by an armed soldier. 3- Wooden barracks may be seen among the trees on the right side of the port. These are also guarded by armed soldiers. 4. The following naval craft were observed in port in the La Maddalena military zone: a. Two motorships for military transports armed each with two heavy and several light machine guns. The D.W. of said ships is estimated about 600 tons. The Yugoslav Navy has a total of twelve similar ships which have been built in Yugoslav shipyards. c. One stall motor tanker (about 600 tons D.W.) armed with heavy and light machine guns. Both on arrival and departure, the local police checked the ship's paper and those of the crew. While in port the ship waslkept under surveillance by an armed soldier.
