TIT-This ship is now ready to commence sea trials which will take
approximately four weeks. The ship will anchor each night off

Marine Commuters in Rast Germany
Warnemuende. She is not expected to pass east of Ruegen Island
or Bornholm. Representatives of firms connected with her re-
fitting will be on board during her trials.
Some trouble has been experienced with the injectors (Duesen)
on her main engines.
The ship is fitted with 220 volts DC with 214 volts alternative
emergency supply.
The ship's telephone system is not equipped with automaticldial-
ling.

red, green.,and white lights indicating port, starboard,and amidships.,
with additional lights indicating ahead., asternJand stop.
Three ammunition elevators have been built to carry a load of pro.,
jeetiles up to 180 kgs (including the cage) at a speed of 20 m per
minute. One is to have a path of 8 m, another of 12 m and
the third of 26 mo
2. Production of Marine Radar
Production of radar apparatus, mainly if not entirely marine radar., began on
1 June 1955 at VEB Funkwerk Leipzig Plagwitz, No further details are availableo

3. Marine Computers
a. A small firm known as Obriegat & Weindling, Oranienburg, has bees
nationalized following the arrest of its two directors for tax
evasion and violation of Last German financial laws. The firm is
now know, as VEB Elektro-Apparatebau h. '!he present specialist
workmen staff of 30 is to be increased to 175*
b. This fire is to develop and produce a fire control equipment. Little
is yet known of details except that the ship's own course and speed,
enemy course and speed, range, bearing and the wind speed are to be fed in
to produce gun bearing and'elevation.
co The equipment is to be based on the present computer supplied by the
Russians for use in the Seepo, with the cooperation of an unidentified
East German' professor who is stated to have been-an expert on wartime
German fire control. The present Soviet computer in use by the Seepo is
stated to bb too, inaccurate.
