1. The area of the munitions depot is surrounded by barbed wire and'is ap rox-
ia tely 740 meters squared It is in a wooded area, which is about 50 x 60
hectares in size. The depot consists of about 50 low buildings,, 30 c 6 meters
in sizef dispersed among the trees. The buildings along the road are painted
for camouflage purposes. The depot is bard ?ed at its west flank by
Turnovo- *Y n road. It is connected to the Pleven-0ryakh9vitsa railroad line
by a secondary line as indicated on the sketches below.. This secondary rail-
road., after having penetrated into the depot, runs parallel to the road and
passes in front of an unloading platform~on which there is a large building.
Numerous ammunition cases were noticed on this platform and many of them were
not completely covered. Several empty 76-mm. cartridges were seen lying
around,in the area.
2. Artillery officers and man were seen at the entrance of the depot;, An obaer-
vation post guarded by one man was seen at the northwest corner of the depot,
and another observation post was seen in the middle of the depot among and
a some trees. This seemed to be a very active and important depot.
