1. The building of th hip (of the KOLNO type) at the shipyard in Szczecin
had to be interrupts owa.ng to the overturning, on 25 February 19550 of the crane
near the slipway on which the ship lay. -Investigations lasting two months
delayed the repair of the crane, whicl, as not to be put in. commission again
until mid-June.
2. The next ship of this type was launched on 31 May 1955 and is

the Polish merchan t navy,
4. Apart from the ships of this type0 keels are to be laid in the fall of 1955
for two ships of 5o000 BRT each. of the DONBAS type (identical with the WISLA
type). Until now, these ships were built in the Gdansk shipyard. Two ships
of this class (the GDYNIA and the SZCZECIN) are now serving with the Polish
Zegluga Morska ,(Polish Steamship Company).
