Walter Ulbricht will resign his position as Deputy Minister President and will withdraw from the East German government altogethero He will, however, retain his position as Secretary of the 8ED Central Committee, at least for the present. b. A Ministry of Defense will be established, and will be hesltbdd 41861- by Erich Honecker, former chairs of the Free German Youth (W)., or by Major Paul Markgraf, former Police President of East Berlin, now in the People?s Police. 25X1 Ither 25X1 Russians have ordered the East German government to build up a prestige of the leaders of the former bourgeois parties, such as Otto Nuscbke, Chairman of the Test German CDU.
