1. On 28 June 1955, 10 T-34 tanks, approximately 18 trucks and some
250 soldiers wearing red-bordered black epaulets with tank and
motor transport insignia were entrained at the Schwerin freight
station and left toward Wittenberge. The unit had come from'
iwoltke Kaserne (5543). On 1 July, this installation was occupied
by only about 400 soldiers. Two SP guns, presumably JSU-122s,
practiced driving in the installation training area. 1

2. Between 22 June and' l July, the Krueger TrELaserne
(5542) in Schwerin
was occupied to capacity. Up to 5 x 152-mm gun howitzers, 5 YA-12
prime Liovers, 3 AT guns, presumably of 85-mm, 1 x 57-mm AT gun and
an undetermined number of soldiers wearing red-bordered black
epaulets with artillery insignia were seen in the barracks yard
and during marches to the Sternbuchholz training area. 2
3. After 22 June, no training was observed in the Fritsch Kaserne
(5544) in Schwerin. Prior to 1 July,the installation was occupied
by only a guard detail. 3
4. At 1300 on 27 June, 4 i,1-13 rocket launchers, approximately 8 trucks
and 0-0 to 100 soldiers wearing red-bordered black epaulets were
entrained at the Schwerin freight station and left toward Wittenberge.
Themunit had come from the Hindenburg Kaserne (5545)?
5. At about 2000 on 26 June, a unit with 14 light and heavy rocket
launchers, 40 trucks, 1 ambulance, 1 field kitchen and approximately
400 soldiers wearing red-bordered black epaulets including some with
artillery insignia entered the Xraftfahrer Kaserne (5443) in
Rathenow from the direction of Neue Schleuse-Altengrabow. After
the arrival of the unit, the installation was occupied by some
600 soldiers. 5
Comment. A tank company of the 74th Tank SP Regt of the 94th
Gds Litz Rifle Div was entrained, presumably for Letzling Heath.
Comment. According to present information, the 4th Gds

102-mm AT guns, rather than 81---m AT guns.

Comment. The headquarters and the other units of - the
94th. Gds Utz Rif' _e Div which are stationed in the Fritsch
Kaserne were apparently asent from the post for exercises'
after 22 June.
4. ~~ Comment. After July 1954, units of the 10th Gds RL Regt
of the IX itz Rifle Corps were no longer observed in the
.iii~denburg Kaserne.. Since that time, the regiment had been
repeatedly confirmed in Camp Priemerviald (5146) in Guestrow
by shipments and A.PNs: A small detail may have remained in the
Hindenburg Kaserne.

had been entrained in Rathenow, presumably for 'Altengrabpww',
on 19 June. On 26 Juno # f

major firing practices which may have been held in Altengrabow.
