Information
1. The Ministry of Agriculture and the Rumanian Workers$ Party have issued
instructions to the Machine and Tractor Stations (NO) on the harvesting
campaign. Mst>Or special machines, threshers, and reapers have been im-
ported to enable Mlb to fulfill their quotas, since, in general, a good
harvest is sported, provided there are no natural disasters. About
4t 000 plan throughout the country have been repaired in order to permit
plowing the fields immediately after harvesting.
2. Oultivation of corn was carried out on time, and every effort was made
to plant a greater area with corn than planned. A good corn crop is
expected.
3. Other HTS work is going according to schedule. Field brigades have
been set up in collectives and state farms and are working on the
crops. Particular attention is given to sugar beets, oil producing
plants, and corn.
