The following air activity and aircraft were observed at?..!ittatock airfield 25X1
between 17 June and 22 July 1955:
1'7 June. In the morning, jet fighters made flitihts individually or in
elements of two. In the afternoon, flying in formations of t: o and i'our
was observed.
18 June. Only individual take-offs of jet fighters were seer.: One single-
em;,ine low-wing aircraft took off.
25 June. Jet fighters made individual local fli_;:,hts,.
27 June. Between 2200 until about midnight, there as air activity by jet
fighters. Two aircraft were aloft at the same time.. Three searchlights were
in operation during night air activity.
26 June. Jet fighters practiced flying individually and in elements of two.
The take-off of a twin-engine transport aircraft and the landing of a single-
engine high-wing monoplane was seen,
13 to 15 July. Jet fighters practiced flying individually and in elements of
two.

airfield and not Shilnuik as had previously been reported.

Commento Presumably, wittstock airfield is still occupied by one
fighter Yegiment. Intensive air activity was observed, especially formtion
flying as has also been reportel at other fighter airfields in East
Germanyp
