The construction of proposed roads was temporarily abandoned. 7. The construction of the following buildings at Forest Districts Nos 125 and 126 was completed= a kitchen, 3 permanent barracks, a dispensary, 2 sheds, and 2 cellars. 1 Eight 2-story wooden buildings were under construction on both side; of the concrete lane at Forest Districts Noe.,94 and 95. Five of these buildings, which had brick basements were completed. All the buildings were of the same type. The front sides of the buildings had 10 windows each on both the first and the second floor., There were also two small stair case windows on the second.fiJos. 3 Several one-family type buildings were erected at Forest Districts Noe 126, 125, 95 and 94?. a carbine firing range was constructed by Soviet soldiers at Forest District No. 124. This t114g rarge was l acted north of the camp of the AA unit. 8. The ammunition depot 41t4rosa Doelin airfield was the major project of Bauunion Brandenburg. Several roads east of the ammunition depot were reinforced with concrete. The concrete slabs were 15 on thick and meAured 5 x` 5.5 meters. Yost of the fence at the eastern side of the ammunition depot was destroyed, A string of red lamps was; erected along the former fence during the night shift. The crossing of this line was strictly forbidden. Sandy soil was shipped to Forest District No-.115 because of the boggy ground. The individual ammunition Q4orage sheds at the depot were numbered 1, 2, and 3. Stacks of round wooden baskets about 150 cm long ware seen near build' Nos 2 and 3. 3 It was learned that the last time ammunition was unloaded from boars 1SS in early July 1955 shed No.1 was empty, while small bombs 25X1 were stored in shed No 2 and bombs whic were more than 2 ssWr long were stored in shed No,-3. The ammunition storage sheds had no conveying machinery or loading installations; thus bomb crates had to be hand carried with the aid of poles to the sheds. It was observed that.the rails leading to-ammo sheds Jos 2 and 3 were unused. The space between the individual ties had been filled with broken concrete and dirt. The rails ended 1.5 meters away from the concrete edge at the spur track. Concreting was nearly completed on the planned roads at the new portion of the ammunition depot. Two ammunition sheds similar to the ones already built were to be constructed at the oonc,te roads. Space was left free on this concrete road for the laying of rails at a later period. It was planned to construct two motor vehicle sheds with four entrances each. These sheds are expected to cover n floor space of 22 x'10 meters, An area near the northern road was covered by 4 x 3 concrete slabs. Each of these slabs measured 5.5 x 5 meters. The construction of several other small ammunition sheds and buildings was planned for both sides of the middle road. The whole area was Burro-.:+ided by a double wire fence which was erected at a distance of 40 to 50 m.ters'from the outer buildings. The distance between the two barbed wire fences was 10 meters. At that time the area was cleared of trees. Construction materials were already made available. Construction work was ceing *arried- out with great speed. 4 9. Some workers and machines were transferred to Allstedt (Querfurt) and Gars. construction work at thriso places had 25X1 been delayed because of lack of workers. 10. Three workers of Bauunion-Brandenburg were recently arrested. It was said that these 3 workers were agents of a Western intelligence service. 11. On 10 July and 20 July respectively, a total of 680 and 677 workers of V ?"B Ing. Tiefbau Brandenburg were emplgpd at the Gross Doelln airfield construction project.
