1. The GST (Gesellschaft fur Sport and Technik) (Society for Sport Technology) is scheduled to provide from among its mmbers 0canand
didates
in 1955 for pilot training in the Zast German Air Force.
2. A preliminary condition of acceptability is that the candidate shall have
successfully concluded 25 hours of glider flying. This condition should not
prevent achievement of the aim of 300 pilots, but a good proportion of these
are likely to be rejected as politically unreliable.
3. Flying training, including parachutist training, in the GST is supervised by
the Mnistry of the Interior, Abteilung Flugsport, which came into being
on 1 May 1954. Officers of this section include officers seconded from the
East German Air Force. They normally wear civilian clothes to help to maintain
the pretense that the GST is a civilian organisation.
