1. The East German Government Hospital (Begierungakraakenhaus) is located in
Berlin-Mitte, Scharnhorstetr.,next to the Supreme Court and the Ministry
of Health. It contains approsimetely 100 rooms, mostly individual. In

functionaries have bodyguards, arrangements are alep made to admit the body-

3. Admission to the hospital is only possible with the permission of the SED
Central Committee. The hospital admits the highest functionaries of the

6. All leading functionaries of Party, mass organizations and government must
present themselves every six months at the hospital for physical examina-
tions. This includes members of the SED PolitbQro and Secretarj.at.
7- Occasionally the small UP and Sf'S guard complement is increased markedly.
It is no# known why these increased precautions are taken.
