1. The 0ltenita shipyard, located on the Danube River south of buoharest,
constructs fishing boats and tugs, but its principal aotiviigr is the
repair of Rwnanian and Soviet vessels which sail the Danube. During
last year, only six fishing boats and 12 tugs were constructed.
2. The shipyard is an industrial company under the Ministry of Marine and
Aviation. Approximately 800 workers, 150 ship construction specialists
and a nmaber of clerical personnel are seployed. Engineer Ion Petresou
is the manager of the shipyard and Engineer Detu Dragcs it is the Chief
of the Assmably Departments
3. The shipyard now has new manufacturing machinery, part] of Rumanian
make and partly of foreign make.
