A. Summarv of Suagestion
Suggester proposed a training programs A reading couxse to
be instituted to provide supervised reading by employees on the
job. This guide in reading material would help employees in
their career objectives and at the same time earn Training cxedits.
B. Summary of Evaluation
ORR is independently developing specialized reading lists for
the various components. The branch or division chiefs will monitor
the progress of the employee who, on his own time and initiative,
will undertake this self-development program. A record of
accomplishment will be placed in the employee's personnel files at
the Office and Agency levels.
The Office of Training stated that no requirement has been
levied on them by QRR so there will be no further action by them.
Because of the individual needs of the various branches and
divisions, it would be virtually impossible for OTR to make up
these lists -- the lists should come from each Office.
DD/P stated that they could see no use within their component.
C. Recommendation of Executive Secretary
1. Not in line-of-duty (GS-11, Geographer)
2. $25 award based on Intangible Benefits (Slight-Limited)
3. Does the Chairman consider this suggestion as a way of
saving money through QTR?
