print. It has been tested at the Indian Forest Research Institute and La
eanada under direction of Robert Ae Renkin & Co., consulting engineere, Offi-
cials of the latter firm are ocheduled to visit India shortly to inspeet the
proposed fetoy site.

60% of those prevalent in Canada, and thet sale price will be about 2Ce of
the delivered price of Canadian newsprint. Reasons for the expected la caret are:
(A) Law cost of labor.

etook issue. Even if it never produces for export, its domestic marke, r?s
tremendous. Indials present naveprint consumption is 40,0410 tons a yea e, all
from imports but there is an immediate marketefOr at least 90,000 tone Annually.

The Governmentls efforts to raise the current 13% literacy rate are expected
to:
(a) Increase the 90,0006-toms annual needs of newspaper publishers at
the rate of 25% each year to at least 400% in the next ten years.
(b) Create an additional Freat demand for Cheap books printed on the
SMUG paper.

The companyos activity is certain to brin- a redirection of attertion to soft
voodoo VhiCh heretofore have been considered unaatiareotoxy for newsprint.
With the morldls spruce forests being depleted and demand for newsprint steadily
rising, a new source of supply may have been found.
