THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
1. The Soviet-built tool room lathe which I saw in Prague appears to be well
built, has hardened ways, and all other improvements which are installed in
modern lathes for tool room application.
2. The swing of the lathe over the bed is 400 mm; the maximum distance between
centers is 1,000 mm. It has spindle speeds from 18 to 3,000 rpm and is
equipped with a two-speed motor and a variable speed reducer. The motor is
15 hp. The weight of the machine is 3,700 kg. It has single lever control
for feeds, both traverse and cross, both feed and return; has a push button
type spindle speed control, and is equipped with a duplicator.
