a) Locomotive and Diesel Works, which was originally built in 1927 or 1928 and
has had numerous additions since.
1. To the east of Bucharest a few kilometers are the most important industrial
plants in that region. These are:

b) The Malaxia Tube Factory, which is now called the 24 August Plant. The
Malaxia Plant produced pipe for the oil industry.
c) A government munitions plant built in about 1938. It produces machine
