LIAISON Received a call from Rich DiEugenio, in the office of Representative Gary Myers (R., Pa. ), requesting that the Congressman be added to the mailing list for the FBIS publication on the Soviet Union. I told him I would take care of this, and advised the FBIS Liaison Office. staff of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and asked him when he thought we might expect Representative Les Aspin's (D., Wis.) contributions to wording Mr. Aspin would most like to see in the DCI's regulation governing CIA's contact with the media. He said he would be out here next week to get this accomplished. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence staff, who asked me questions about the appropriate classification of the Subcommittee on Special Investigations report on Agency activitie which I answered. 25X1 I later met with Sanders and picked up f 1m a copy of the security manual for his Senate Select Committee on Ethics investigation into possible Congressional leaks, and a letter from Senator Robert Morgan (D., N. LIAISON Met with Bill Miller, Staff 25X1 Director, Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, who asked me about outstanding requests for a SALT Matrix, papers related too and 25X1 documents on the Middle East arms balance. I agreed to check into these for Miller. I later accompanied Don Gregg, SA/DO/O, to a meeting with Miller covering several subjects. Regarding the papers the 25X1 Committee has requested, Gregg tentatively agree to provide these under very tightly restricted Committee access. Regarding the Committee letter on former Agency employees Miller 25X1 indicated the Committee was trying to be helpful to the Agency and thought that it would benefit the Agency to be portrayed as caring about former employees, admitting mistakes, and rectifying wrongs. Miller emphasized the Committee would not do anything on this case that would be harmful to the Agency. 17. CONSTITUENT Received a call from 25X1 Michelle Asher, in the office of Representative Mark W. Hannaford (D. , Calif. ), who had a request from a constituent who is a teacher for 45 copies of any pamphlets containing general information about the Agency. I told Michelle that I could not provide that many copies but that I would send one package with quite a bit of general information to her for the constituent. She said that would be fine. The material included "Career Opportunities, "Executive Order 12036, " "Intelligence in the War of Independence, " "Central Intelligence Agency" (grey brochure), several handouts from the Public Affairs Office, and a list of unclassified publications available from the DOCEX Project at the Library of Congress.
