should like to bring to your attention the following
a memorandu of conversation with Mr.

'ipropos of our NSC Quarterly Report, Farley
told me that the president is planning to give
the President a comprehensive picture of where
the country stands with respect to national poli.-
oisa and progress. Instructions have been given
the principal Covernnat agencies to prepare progress
reports on these matters., to be in the hands of the
President immediately 'after the election. CIA. in
preparing a nmcber of new estimates; State :Le working
on progress reports on foreign policies and programs;
and other members of the N are likewise preparing
reps. Parley remarked that our NSC Quarterly
Report is aptly tined for inclusion in this package
for the new President. In addition, he stated that
the President has already stated his intention of
,ng X3C 135, which includes our annual report, as
a part of the briefing package.

importance of doing a first-rate job on this Quarterly
