III0 Re ort on Intelligence Matters
a) Mr a Norberg reviewed the results of research on
available. documentation on German psychological warfare
activities against the Soviet and Japanese psychological war-
fare activities against the Chinese; The Board agreed to ask
CIA to have an analysis made ref the =material available, and
the Board is to be kept advised of the progress made on this
assignment.
b) The matter of coordinating psychological warfare
research and intel:iger,ce assignments within the Federal
Government was, discussed. ` Mr. Norberg is to follow through with
State Department review completed

Informal minutes of meeting held on 1/15/51 (Cont0d)
a request to the Library of Congress for specific
examples of calls on that organization for research in
this field. This matter will be coordinated through a
committee (Psychological warfare Intelligence Committee)
on which Mr. Norberg has been wo?king. A copy of the
report of this Committees a findings will be distributed
to each member of the Board for their information and
comment at the January 29th meeting.
o) The matter of intelligence support for this
Board was brought to the Board's attention and Mr, Norberggs
suggestion for an appropriate briefing room gill. be dis-
cussed by Messrs. Norberg and Barrett snd Mrs. Curran and
a report will be given to the Board at a subsequent meeting,
TV. Review ofychololcalWarfare in Korea
General McClure and Mr. Connors reported. It was
agreed&,
Mrm Stone should prepare for the Chairman a. draft
statement expressing the Board' s views:
a) that more emphasis should be placed on psycholo-
gical warfare activities in Korea;
b) recommending the transfer of psychological warfare
from G 3 to status of a special staff division in the
theaters table of organizat ion.
