SUBJECT Item to be discussed at PSB Luncheon Meeting, 26 February
1. Attached is a letter to DCI from I I, Acting Director 25X1A
of the PSB, attaching a proposed PSB reply to the letter from the Director
of the Budget of 3 February 1953 asking for a re-examination of PSB's
25X1A budget. Its letter calls for an expression of CIA's views to be
transmitted to the Executive Officer, PSB, before 2 March.
2. A memorandum will be prepared by this office and sent forward for
the signature of DCI as soon as possible. It is expected, however, that
the draft of the budget review will be discussed at the PSB Luncheon Meet-
ing tomorrow, 26 February. It is the opinion of Mr. Edward Saunders,
Comptroller, that the attached review complies with.the terms of the
letter from the Director of the Budget, and it is therefore recommended
that if requested DCI indicate his approval of the attached draft.
3. I am informed that the members of the Board from State and Defense
will be requested by their respective staffs to approve the attached draft,
