SUBJECT: Differences in FY 1959-1960 Foreign Intelligence Cost
Estimates (U)
1. (S) Submitted herewith for use in Annex (E) FY 1960
Foreign Intelligence Cost Estimate Report to the USIB is a state-
ment covering major differences in Army Intelligence Costs between
FY 1959 and 1960:
The net decrease of 27.9 million between the FY 1959 and
1960 report is due to a reduction of 13 million for training costs,
6 million reduction for Operation and Maintenance of Intelligence
Support and 3 million for Communications.
2. (U) Other decreases reported by Army commands were due to
variations in the FY 1959 and 1960 definitions and reporting
instructions.
