MEMORANDUM FOR THE UNITED STATES INTELLIGENCE BOARD
SUBJECT: Estimated Foreign. Intelligence Costs for. Fiscal Year 1960
1. On 16 May the United States Intelligence Board (USIB) con-
sidered the subject report of the Coat Estimates :Committee dated
28 April (Attachment to USIB-D-53. 1/6; available through representa-
tives on Cost Estimates -Committee), and took the following action
.(USIB-M-155, item 8):
"After discussion with Mr. Saunders. the Board noted
the Committee's report with.the understanding that it would
be made available for further Board review in .the event that
any requirement for this report developed in the future.
"The Board also agreed to dissolve the Cost Estimates
:Committee. It was recognized, however, in view of
responsibilities assigned to the Coordination Staff with respect
to implementation of certain Joint Study Group recommenda-
tions in this general field, that that Staff might need assistance
at a later date from personnel such as those who had partici-
pated in activities of the Cost Estimates Committee. "
2. Accordingly, holders of the Cost Estimates Report distributed
as an "Attachment to USIB-D-53. 1/6" are requested to attach to copies of
that document this memorandum indicating the Board's action.
3. In view of the.USIB action set forth above the Cost Estimates
Committee should. also be considered dissolved as of 16 May 1961.
