SUBJECT: Additional GS-9 SF Position in the Africa Division
25X1A 1. Administrative Officer of the Africa Division,
in an interview today, stated. that a new SF position grade GS-9 in
the Budget and Finance Section of the Africa Division had been approved
25X1A by Office and the Office of the DD/P and that a request
had been made of the Salary and Wage Division of the Personnel Office
to classify the position at the GS-9 level. He said that he was giving
the undersigned advance notice so that we would have a person available
for transfer when the position was approved. by the Salary and Wage
Division. He further stated that he would like to have a person quali-
fied in travel work and with a general knowledge of finance operations.

2. reported that considerable consideration had been
given to the establishment of a - operation covering the -over- 25X9
seas field offices but that for the time being no further action would
be taken as it was his considered opinion as well as others that all
problems could be better handled from Headquarters by sending qualified
finance personnel to the area on a TDX basis. He gave as an illustration,
the proposed trip of- to the area.
