1. Dir. Saunders brought Mr. Hart Perry, Bureau of the Budget,
to my ottice in connection with a Bureau of the Budget questionnaire
cone ing automobiless. The specific questions remaining to be
answered were a source of authority for the purchase of the
Director's car at a cost in excess of that authorized under Public
Law 600 and also the source of authority for other than strictly
STATOTHR "official use" of the Director's car. It wk, indicated to Perry
that to our recollection there had been discussions both with
STATOTHR appropriations committees and with the Bureau of the Budk,et,
