Mr. SAsscER introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Com-
mittee on Armed Services
A BILL
To amend section 6 of the Central Intelligence Agency Act of
1949.
1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-
2 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
3 That section 6 of the Central Intelligence Agency Act of
4 1949 (Act of June 20,1949, ch. 227, sec. 6, 63 Stat. 211)
5 is hereby amended by the addition of a subsection " (f) " as
6 follows:
7 (f) (1) Notwithstanding section 2 of the Act of July
8 31, 1894 (28 Stat. 205), as amended (5 IT S. C. A. 62),
9 or any other law prohibiting the employment of any retired
10 commissioned or warrant officer of the armed services, the
11 Agency is hereby authorized to employ and to pay the

1 compensation of not more than fifteen retired officers or
2 warrant officers of the armed services while performing
3 service for the Agency, but while so serving such retired
4 officer will be entitled to receive only the compensation of
5 his position with the Agency, or his retired pay, whichever
6 he may elect.
7 " ( 2 ) Nothing in this section shall limit or affect the
8 appointment of, and payment of compensation to retired
9 officers not presently or hereafter prohibited by law: Pro-
10 vided, That, upon such appointment, officers retired for
11 injuries or incapacity incurred in line of duty may, in addi-
12 tion to the elections set forth above, elect to receive, in
13?addition to his retired pay, annual compensation at a rate
14 equal to the amount by which the compensation of his
15 position with the Agency exceeds his retired pay."
