MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
25X1A SUBJECT:
25X1A Former Contract Officer, presented this office with a
problem concerning possible reprocurement costs arising out of a defaulted
25X1A contract with On 20 November 1975 I called Small Business
Administration (SBA), Washington, D.C. office, to see if they had any infor-
25X1A mation regarding F_ I and was told that they had none. On
25 November 1975 I was referred to SBA -- Richmond, telephone 804-782-2761 --
and spoke with an individual believed to be Mr. Linder. He told me that the
following was public information:
SBA had guaranteed a $75,000 loan or a line of credit. He said
the bank involved was the United Virginia Bank of Norfolk. He also
said the loan no longer exists, but he would not explain what he
meant by that statement. He indicated that he didn't have any infor-
mation available other than the loan no longer existed.
On the same date I called Bankruptcy Court in Norfolk, telephone 804-627-1270.
The clerk indicated there was no record of a petition for bankruptcy involving
25X1A I Subsequently, I conveyed this information to
25X1A who has taken over the case from took the file
back and stated he would contact the Office of Finance to follow through
on the SBA loan matter and get a clarification. I told him that if there
are any assets, we would have to make every effort to collect.
