Approved For Release 2001/071 : CIA-RD 15 June 1964 MEMORANDUM FOR: Director of Personnel 25X1A9a FROM SUBJECT . Reaction to 9 June 1964 Reorientation in Supervisory Responsibilities 1. The session overall was beneficial. Particularly, it was good to see the Director of Central Intelligence. I have seen the president of the United States more frequently than I have seen Mr. McCone. 2. Several years ago I attended, a Basic Supervision Course and, later, a Basic Management Course. Both were geared to groups of about 20 people and utilized the "case method" to make their point. They inter- spaced the sessions with senior speakers. I considered both of those courses, naturally, far more beneficial than the one-day session. Super- vision is too important a responsibility to relegate to a one-time, one-day session, although I appreciate the fact that this one-day session served a useful purpose in adding top management emphasis to a continuing need for the day-in and day-out development of supervisors at all levels. 25X1A9a ~t -cE a 1 Approved For Release 2001/07/31
