Do you like to receive an assignment and complete it on your own? Would you rather spend most of your working hours outside the office? Do you enjoy a challenge to your ingenuity and resourcefulness? If you can answer "yes" to these questions, you will enjoy working as a Revenue Officer. As a Revenue Officer you will call on taxpayers from all walks of life, the individual wage earner, the small businessman, the executive of a large commercial enterprise, pro- fessional men, and others. In con- tacting the taxpayer, at his home or place of business, you will examine records of all types, obtain and analyze information regarding busi- ness situations, negotiate arrange- ments to satisfy taxpayer obligations and perform similar types of work of a diversified nature to protect the Government's interests. THE TAX TECHNICIAN'S JOB Do you enjoy dealing with people? Do you like to complete assignments on your own responsibility? Would you rather spend most of your time inside the office? Do you enjoy a challenge to your ingenuity and re- sourcefulness? If you can answer "yes" to these questions, you will enjoy working as a Tax Technician. As a Tax Technician you will repre- sent the Service in consultations with taxpayers of all kinds, the individual wage earner, the small businessman, the executive of a large commercial enterprise, pro- fessional men, and others. You will talk to them in the office and corres- pond with them to identify and ex- plain tax issues and determine their correct tax liability. You will be a specialist in resolving all varieties of Federal income tax questions that do not involve pro- fessional accounting issues.
