SUBJECT; Meeting of the Steering Group/CIA Career Service
Board, 10 August 1953
1. At the meeting on Monday, 10 August 19539 which will be held in
the DCI $ s Conference Room, Administration Building, at Ip 00 P.M., it is
proposed that the following matter be discussed, A memorandum from
Chairman, Professional selection Panel, to Chairman, CIA. Career Service
Board, entitled "Proposed Selection Procedure," dated 5 August 1953
(attached). This memorandum has two parts:
a. A proposal from the Panel concerning policy and procedures
to govern the selection of e:nplayeea for the Career Staff, and
'b. A proposal from the Personnel Director concerning policies
and procedures,for strengthening the processes for selecting
applicants for employment with CIA.
2. This proposed selection procedure is the culmination of almost
a yre.arts continuous study and experimentation by the Panel in consultation
with many other persons in the Agency. It merits the most careful
.consideration by members of the Board.
