DISCUSSION POINTS: CIA EXECUTIVE POSITIONS
1. Military Personnel
Should Military personnel who are occupying Executive Positions
be included in the Executive Inventory? Should Military personnel be
considered as eligible for nomination to the Executive Inventory? Is
the Executive Inventory limited to Staff Employees at this time?
2. DAD's and Division Chiefs
If DAD positions, as a group, are considered to be Executive Positions
should not all DAD positions be included? Should the position of Division
Chief be accepted as executive positions of Agency-wide significance for
one component and not in other components?
3. Announcement of Executive Positions
Should consideration be given to the fact that the Executive Positions
will be contained in the Executive Inventory Regulation which will be
issued to the Agency?

The Board has agreed that the incumbent of an Executive Position,
according to the official record, is automatically in the Executive Inventory
without regard for his qualifications for the job.

5. Information on who is in the Inventory
Information concerning all nominees who are not incumbents of
Executive Positions must be held on a highly confidential basis.
.6. Requesting Nominations
Since letters requesting nominations go to the incumbents of
Executive Positions, no letters can be sent out until the list of
Executive Positions is approved.
