GMMRAL'
The personal aff Tiro of an employee are are of official concern to the
Agency unless they are of such a nature or co, uct in such a n nner
as to effect his general reputation wMd therefore his suitability for
eaployment. Excessive claims or inquiries indicating willful refusal
or negligent failure to pay lawful debts necessarily reflect on the
suitability of the i.alividu4LI concerned for cantina d employment with
Agency. It is expected +.,hat each e-a ployee will. conduct his personal
financial affairs so as to ensure that they do not c to the official
attention of the Agency.
2. POLICY
The Agency will not act as a collection agent, for any ore- itor putt i
the Government, However, the Agency will, take action when there is an
indication of i btedness to the Federal Over ant, end it will cooperate
with State and local governments asserting claims against an emp'loyee.

3. PROCEDtS

employees in conraeetion with personal indebtw srs and will transmit
claims end inquiries concerning indebtedness to the employee: concerned.
c. In cases when an excessive numiber of alaitta or inquiries are received.,
the Director of Personnel. will make rec atior s to *?pp opriate

for continued employment with the Agency.
