SUBJECT: Release of Photographs Concerning the
Inauguration of the Career Staff of CIA
REFERENCE: Memo from Executive Secretary, CIA Career Council
to Director of Security dtd 16 July 56
1. Enclosure 1, the proposed letter transmitting a photograph
to each of the fifteen participants in the inauguration of the Career
Staff of CIA is approved.
2. It is noted that you propose releasing these photographs through
the Heads of the appropriate operating components. In your forwarding
memorandum, it is recommended that you insert a paragraph to the
effect that the Head of the operating component should apply any additional
security restrictions in the release of these photographs that may be
necessary because of cover considerations.
