MEMORANDUM FOR THE SECRETARY OF DE ENE
At the request of the President and pursuant to Section R
of Executive Order 10501 dated `3ove--).ber 10, 1953, as
amended, would you please provide to the Johnson Library
throe people with the knowledge to evaluate and with the
authority to declassify classified materials in the Johnson
Library whenever national defonac considerations permit.
In addition it is requested that tbeso individuals provide
expertise to the Library on certain White House classified
materials relating to Defense issues.
Tom Johnson, former President Johnson's assistant, in-
dicates that those people will be needed from 12 to 18 rnoothc.
