SUBJECT Comments on the Proposed Dis-
establishment of the Ad Hoc
Working Group on the Arab-
Israeli Situation
1. The subject of the possible abolishment
of the Ad lIoc Working Group on the Arab-Israeli
Situation came up during a pre-USIB briefing ses-
sion about S June. On that occasion, AD/NE de-
livered himself of an impassioned speech in favor
of keeping the Group in existence. He said he
felt it was doing an essential job in a modest,
efficient way, and if it was abolished, it would
have to be re-established when the time came to
do the work.
