MEMORANDUM FOR: Director of Personnel

SUBJECT : Request to Engage a Retired Annuitant
Under a WAE Contract
1. is scheduled to retire in mid-December
1973. This memorandum requests your approval to engage-
-as a contract employee under a WAE contractual agreement
for one year commencing circa 1 January 1974.
2. The Office of Inspector General is currently adjusting to new
missions and functions with a reduced staff. During the coming year,
while the Office is making this adjustment, abilities
would be of special value. Her performance as a staff employee of
the Office has been outstanding and has been distinguished by a
perceptive grasp of basic and complex problems and an ability to
reduce findings to an actionable basis for senior management levels.
If employed, will be assigned to perform ad hoc studies
on problems related to management and personnel. The specifics
of these assignments are dependent upon approval by the DCI of
specific proposals that have been and will be submitted by the
Inspector General.

annuity cannot exceed 90% of her current salary or $13. 45 per hour.
Therefore, if approved, it is requested that her contract authorize
a payment of $13. 45 per hour to be reduced by the amount of her
annuity. We understand her annuity to be approximately $10, 000
per annum or $4. 82 per hour, thus her actual salary would be about
$8. 63 per hour,
