The conference will be the, fifth in a series which this command has hosted on subjects of mutual interest to the State/Defense community. Among those to be invited will be the Secretaries of State, Defense and the three Services, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Service Chiefs, and Commanders of the Unified and Specified Commands. The purpose of the conference, as in past years, is to provide attendees an opportunity to hear and discuss with distinguished authorities various facets of the selected subject. It would be appreciated if you could accept this invitation and address the conference on 24 February 1971 on the subject: "Communist Strategy in the 1970s." Though the scope and content of your presentation is entirely a matter for your determination, I have attached a copy of the conference agenda with some suggested topics for your consideration.
