MEMORANDUM FOR: Mr. Colby SUBJECT: Princeton University Type Seminar This memo will recall to you that we spoke about the Board of National Estimates' former visits to Princeton. You mentioned the possibility of having a number of responsible newsmen come out here for a'similar session. The idea was that they would be given access to an already published NIE and the discussion would be a back-and-forth critique on the NIE between the newsmen and the Board. Here is an initial list of possible fcandidates for a seminar. I don't yet know enough about Washington is it the fourth dimension?--to feel very sure of myself. But here goes: Rowland Evans, Columnist Peter Lisagor, Chicago Daily News William S. White, Columnist Hugh Sidey, Time Lewis Gulick, Associated Press ------------ Budge Sperling Christian Science Monitor David Kraslow, Los Angeles Times Bureau Chief Charles Bartlett, Columnist Carl Rowan, Columnist Dana Schmidt, New York Times The schedule of the round table might be something like this: 4:30 P.M. Newsmen arrive at the building, come to my office, and read the NIE. 5:00 P.M. Go up to the USIB meeting room, meet the Board of National Estimates, and sit down around the table with them. Opening comments on ground rules and introduction and identification of the gentlemen to each other by AMT. Chairing of the meeting by Mr. Huizenga. apt Approved For Release 200F1QiJQj .CIA-RQP8Q Q1 Q$6A000900250009-8 4-RRP8013010000900250009-8 6:30 P.M.
