SUBJECT: Removal of a COINS Primary File
REFERENCE: IHC-D-113.4/22, 3 February 1970
1. The reference requested that IHC concur in the removal
of I a primary file, from the COINS System.
2. The Air Force, in discussion with DIA, has indicated
some desire to retain in COINS. However, a written
justification for retention of-this particular file in COINS
has not been received. All other IHC members have concurred
in the removal from COINS.
3. The sponsoring agency forl file, 25X1
DIA, is presently converting their COINS files in order to
transfer them from the IBM 360/50 system to the GE 635 (DIAOLS)
system by 1 October 1970. Since it was anticipated that the
removal of this file would be approved, has not been 25X1
converted for the GE 635 (DIAOLS) system an will not be
available to COINS users after the transfer of the files.
4. Other information could become
available to COINS users in the future pending a study of the
order of battle problem by a COINS data-base review panel.
