1. I had a call from Lyman Kirkpatrick yesterday. He tells me that Nis
recent book, The U. S. Intelligence Community, is doing well and is about to
go into a second printing. The original printing was 8500 copies, of which
3000 were for the Macmillan Book Club.

2. Kirk also tells me that the book will be used at Syracuse University
and, I believe, the University of Kansas, both of which are undertaking courses
on intelligence in some form or other.
3. Kirk's new book on the Russian intelligence service is about finished.
