SUBJECT : Immediate Actions Required Under E.O. 11652
1. As you know from our meeting on 3 June, the revision of
the Agency regulation to implement E. O. 11652 and the accompanying
NSC Directive is in preparation and will be approved and issued as
soon as possible. The several directives require us to initiate pro-
grams to orient our employees on the new rules concerning classified
information. Also, we are required to furnish our lists of classifiers tam
to the Interagency Classification Review Committee by 1 July. jlorac
2. Please take necessary actions on these two items promptly
without awaiting issuance of the revised regulation. As we discussed
at our meeting, lists should be forwarded to the Deputy Director for
Support for compiling. At our meeting we also indicated that Mr.
Houston, the CIA member of the Interagency Classification Review
Committee, will undertake to make arrangements with that Committee
to permit the Committee to review or examine our lists, but only under
security arrangements satisfactory to this Agency.
